When getting your website made you need to keep in mind that it needs to have a number of aspects to help with getting a good ranking and more traffic. Once your site is made the webmaster will go out to find other sites to trade links with. The different search engines see a link from internet site A to site B as an advice from web site A. You may have heard of Link Farms, this is where a webmaster who has a number of sites will put his links on all these sites pointing to his other sites, even if they are not related.

Spam : many of us think that spam is just those exasperating emails that offer to raise your size or guarantee weight reduction, or the irritating pop ups that appear when you're attempting to read a web site. These are usual kinds of spam but they aren't the sole kind. Another type of spam is spamming internet sites.

CONTENT: The content on your website is important with ranking your site. The content you put on your site not only needs to be of interest to the reader/buyer, but it can also effect the position of your site in the search engines.If your site isnt kept up to date this can effect yoru ranking too. Keeping it fresh with content can keep you raising to th etop. For example, if you had a travel website and you didnt update the site from the summer and your are advertising them in the winter you wont be making any sales. The search engines are always updating ever few weeks. It then totals up how applicable your content keywords are compared with your Meta keywords, the standard design of the site and it counts all of the links to your internet site.
It adds up all this and ranks your site to where it thinks it is relevant in the results pages.

Then in another few weeks when it runs it again it'll recalculate and re rank the site.

CONTROL PANEL: one of the things the search engines will look for is how easy your site is for the customer to navagate around. The site should be easy to navigate around and shouldnt be too hard to get around. If someone is searching for something you have to offer, you have a few seconds to get their attention, or they will just hit the back button.
